Advertising in the Chipdir
Current and previous chipdir advertisers
From the president of Amazon, the largest international internet bookseller:
Amazon.com is pleased to have the Chip Directory in the family of Amazon.com associates. We've agreed to ship books and provide customer service for orders we receive through special links on the Chip Directory.
Amazon.com associates list selected books in an editorial context that helps you choose the right books. We encourage you to visit Chip Directory often to see what new books they've selected for you.
Thank you for shopping with an Amazon.com associate.
Sincerely,
Jeff Bezos President Amazon.com
P.S. We guarantee you the same high level of customer service you would receive at Amazon|.com. If you have a question about an order you've placed, please don't hesitate to contact us.

AMD
(199509..12)
First paying advertiser.
They stopped advertising when the 486 began loosing from Intel's generation of Pentiums.
Now they are on top again of course in the low price range market.
Booksnow seems to have gone. Well, it didn't work for me...
I got a check for about $3 after about a year of such.
Amazon worked better at about $200 per year in some years ago,
but not it's sometimes only a couple of dollars per quarter.
Not great of course, but I have to link the ISBN numbers to something.
I doubt that Barnes and Nobles would do much better.
When I emailed them (even before the Booksnow period)
they wanted exclusivity and I don't like that unless income guarantees are given...

Chipdir Brokering
(199607..now)
199607?..
Because people kept asking me to help them find obsolete chips,
I emailed with a lot of chip brokers that I came across and found
a good broker to help me. Since then I added some of my own ad's
to the Chipdir because the modest commission I was getting on the
deals was gradually turning into a serious income source to
maintain the Chipdir on. My aim however is to be a WWW publisher
so my own ad's are just an alternative way of making money via ad's
(and to help people find their chips). I'm open to all kinds if
advertising models as long as it doesn't cost me much time, makes
enough money and enables me to keep providing the information I'd
like to see as a visitor.
